Facing a budget crisis, General Motors stated that they would cancel their press conferences and debuts for this year's show.  Their current vehicles were still on display, and previously introduced vehicles such as the Chevrolet Volt still made an appearance.

Chrysler also did not introduce any new models to the press, although its electric vehicle prototypes revealed in September (Dodge EV, Jeep Wrangler, and Chrysler Town & Country) were on display.
